DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LITHUANIA
Arrival at Vilnius International Airport, located 15 minutes from downtown. Pick up from Vilnius airport by a member of the travel organizator “Discover Baltics”. Private Coach transfer to hotel. Dinner. Accommodation in Vilnius.
DAY 2: VILNIUS
Breakfast. Tour with an English speaking guide to the historical Vilnius center, which is listed in World Heritage sites by UNESCO in 1994. Visit buildings, monuments and most representative places such as Gediminas Castle, Vilnius Cathedral, Presidential Palace, the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, the Church of St. Ana, Vilnius University, the Old Town, Jewish Quarter and the Gates of Dawn. Lunch. Free time. Mass in the Bernardine church in the afternoon. Dinner. Accommodation in Vilnius.
DAY 3: TRAKAI – PAŽAISLIS MONASTERY – KAUNAS
Breakfast. Departure by bus to Trakai. Visit the town of Trakai and its famous Trakai Castle, located about 30 km southeast of Vilnius. Lunch. Stop to visit the Monastery of Pažaislis, the most famous Baroque building in Lithuania and one of the largest in the northwestern Europe. Arrival to Kaunas located just 100 km from the capital. Visit the city center. Here you can see the Cathedral of Kaunas, Town Hall Square, the avenue of freedom (“laisvės alėja”), the famous house of the pagan God Perkunas and several Gothic churches. Dinner. Accommodation in Kaunas.
DAY 4: ŽEMAIČIŲ KALVARIJA – HILL OF CROSSES – ŠIAULIAI
Breakfast. Departure by bus to Žemaiciu Kalvarija, to a town in western Lithuania, now known as a center of pilgrimage of Lithuania. There are 21 cross stations in the town. The trip continues towards the Hill of Crosses near the city of Šiauliai (Lithuania). It is a place, where thousands of crosses of different sizes, materials and shapes are built as a symbol of resistance of Lithuanian people against the Russian occupation. Lunch. Short visit of Šiauliai. Dinner. Accommodation in Šiauliai.
DAY 5: AGLONA – DAUGAVPILS
Breakfast. Departure to Aglona, to a small town 40 km north of Daugavpils. Visit the Cathedral Basilica of Aglona, the largest Catholic shrine of Latvia. The Basilica is a magnificent late baroque building with two towers of 60 feet high. The church has an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures and art objects. Lunch. Trip to Daugavpils, to the second largest city in Latvia. Dinner. Accommodation in Daugavpils.
DAY 6: RUNDALE – RIGA
Breakfast. Departure to Bauska. Stop in the town Rundale (Latvia) to visit the Rundale palace, built in 1780 by the Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Lunch. Arrival to the capital of Latvia. Dinner. Accommodation in Riga.
DAY 7: RIGA
Breakfast. Tour with a guide to the historic center of Riga, which is included in the list of World Heritage sites. Here you can visit the Lutheran Cathedral, the St. Peter church, the house of Blackheads (latvian: Melngalvju nams), the catholic Cathedral, the Freedom monument and the district of art nouveau and others. Lunch. Free time after lunch to shop or enjoy many entertainments in the city of Riga. Mass in Spanish in the Santiago catholic Cathedral in the afternoon. Dinner. Accommodation in Riga.
DAY 8: TALLINN
Breakfast. Departure by bus to Tallinn, located just 300 km away from Riga. Lunch. Tour with the guide to Tallinn’s Old Town, which is included in the list of World Heritage sites. Here you can visit the Town Hall Square, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Cathedral of Santa Maria, the old city walls and the Kadriorg Palace. Catholic mass in the Holy Spirit church. Farewell dinner. Accommodation in Tallinn.
DAY 9: DEPARTURE
Breakfast. Departure by bus to the international airport of Tallinn.
